Delaware County
Shrine Club
The Delaware County Shrine Club was founded in 1948. There have been five Past Presidents that went on to be Potentates of Lu Lu Temple. We do, however, meet monthly except in December when we honor our president and our Ladies by having a gala Christmas dinner dance for them. At this affair we invite our friends to participate, letting them see how Shrinedom works. Like most Masonic bodies, we do not meet in July or August. This does not mean we are idle for two months, Shrinedom operates twelve months of the year.
Our regular meetings are held on the Third Thursday of each month except as stated above. Happy Hour is from 6:00-7:00 P.M. and dinner is at 7:00 P.M. Entertainment or a guest speaker follows dessert, with a short business meeting at 8:30 P.M.
The bulk of the business is handled by the Officers and the Board of Directors who meet the first Wednesday night of the month except July and August. This gives time at the regular meeting for relaxing and enjoying fellowship of Brothers-Nobles in an atmosphere of good will and brotherhood.
There are six Officers, three trustees, Twelve Board of Directors that oversee the business of the club. The bulk of our membership comes from the Delaware County area, any Noble in good standing from any temple, regardless of where he lives, is eligible to join the club. Many Nobles from Nur Temple, Delaware belong to our club.
While we are a very active club, we always find time to support alt the activities of Lu Lu Temple. A goodly contingent of Delaware County Shrine Club members will always he seen at a Temple Event, such as the Circus and the Rodeo selling food in the booths and collecting money for our hospital at many shopping centers around Delaware County for our annual paper drive.
If you are a member of Lu Lu Temple and live in or near Delaware County, you should seriously consider joining the Delaware County Shrine Club.
